    Ok - so I got a bit behind with my postings.
    DECEMBER 25TH – CHRISTMAS DAY

    My donkey needs a harness, and Hassan the donkey driver has promised to make me one out of rice sacks.
    I go down, and watch him patiently sewing the sacks and flat rope together. His children help him. One of his wives offers me fresh ground nuts, and I eat them while watching Hassan.

  2. "TRYING TO HELP OTHERS!!"

    We have faced many battles last year and carried them forward into the new year but we don't give up!!

    I know that I face a losing battle trying to get my friend from the Gambia to the UK but my other battle is buying a property that is large enough to take my ailing family but also help some students in the UK.

    My son who lives in Uni digs said "Mum we are just being ripped off" I asked him why is this son? and he tells it like this! which is very simplistic. ...

  3. What a upside down christmas!!

    Today I spent the whole morning ringing the hospital, checking and re-checking as they said mum may be sent to the local hospital in our town during the night, No unfortunatley mum had a glitche last night so must be monitored for the next 24 hours. Mums wishes were that we all got on with our christmas as normal and no one was to visit this christmas day.. well tough mum as our normal day was to spend christmas at our home with you so spending it hospital is no big deal!!

  4. The season of goodwill!! Today it was for us anyway!

    I know that this is not travel related but it's happened today!!

    In the early hours of this morning my mum was rushed into hospital with a heart attack, the hospital is 20 miles or so from where we live it is in Leeds City Centre!

    My younger brother drove to Leeds in the early hours and couldn't find the hospital, he stopped several people asking them the way, my brother just got nowhere so in desperation he asked a taxi driver to direct him and was told "due ...

  5. DIY Trip to Jinack - Thursday 15 December 2011

    I promised the Fitter that I'd post on TA about my trip to Jinack, but since when I was away I noticed that Blogs are no longer classed as 'Travel Related' on TA, I thought I'd play safe and post here first.
